Biography

Art and the act of creating have always been a part of Chris’ life. She recently retired from a long nursing career, but has painted since age 13 and has taken various courses and workshops over the years. She works most often in acrylics, but enjoys drawing with graphite, and occasionally painting in watercolor. She seeks to celebrate the positive side of human existence in her painting. Influential artists include da Vinci, Canaletto, Rembrandt, Van Gogh, Monet, Kandinsky, Georgia O’Keefe, Daphne Odjig, and George Raab.

Chris has drawn with the Kamloops Life Drawing Studio for the past 15 years, and has displayed work in their shows. She has participated in numerous shows in the Kamloops area, including past Kamloops Arts Council Art Shows, the Kamloops Downtown Artwalk, and the Bizarre Bazaar in 2010. In the KAC Art Exposed shows, one of her paintings was sold to go to the Kamloops Timeraiser in May 2014, and another painting was selected for the new Art Rental Program in 2015. She has also done a number of private commissions.
