Artist Statement:

This “August Storm” is one that I witnessed on my travels on Highway 16 on the way back from Alberta. The flat prairie landscape provides opportunities to view the sky that are not available in other parts of the country. The sky becomes immense, with an ever changing and fascinating menu of clouds, moods, and lighting during the different seasons. My fingers just itch to paint the fantastic shapes, sizes, and colors of the cloud formations. The landscape becomes secondary to the sky as a ruler of the world.
